Default New hints from Funcom on CGN

First, check out the new Cry Gaia site, if you haven't already.

Then check out the Christmas card.

Last of all, check out the forum to discuss it, or discuss it here.

Ok, GO!

This is bunny after having been hit by a car. So much for his plans for world domination. Poor Bunny.

Hm.. ASSASSIN starter set ? Maybe a hint on some kind of class.
That guy with the lollipop looks like a vampire. Zombie in a Box ? So we might have zombies!

Or it might be just art ;p

Ack! I can't resist. Looks like child versions of the fighting group example in the TSW picture. So, does it look like 7 classes are represented? Is the girl in front a "beastmaster" class? Yes, assassin, and magician. The demon hunter is receiving a crucifix. The oriental guy has his charms, and in front and center are the puzzles, the glorious puzzles!

I don't think we should read much into it at this time. And, yes, whether there is a class wearing that name of something else, I do expect to see assassins in TSW.

It absolutely warms my heart to see that card...Especially what looks like a soldier/special forces guy on the far right hand side

What an awesome card..saved to my TSW folder!

My favorite things are that soldier guy on the far right, the puzzle box, and last but not least the guy receiving the cross from Santa!

Exactly. No firearms whatsoever. Weird. I think this points to a key principle of the TSW "universe." There will be no firearms, no vehicles, no computers. Just magic and "ancient" weapons. Must be a magical-apocalypse thing.

I hope that's not the case, that would completely antagonize their press releases and interviews, pointing to a modern world, our times, big cities and other references to the world we live in.

Also weird to see the guy with the lollypops, who wears modern military protective gear, wich would be quite pointless against swords and magic.

Hmm, it could be that the hassle of owning firearms at that time is just not worth it. Government may be the largest Mob in this world of chaos. How can they regulate good ole prowess though?

I don't know. It just seems really improbable that everyone in the world is suddenly proficient with katanas and other bladed weapons. Makes much more sense for some people -- either through a past profession such as soldier or policeperson or through sheer necessity -- to be packing heat.

"Funcom reveals ‘The Secret World’

A modern day online world of action, horror and intriguing conspiracies awaits
New action-packed MMO set to release on both Xbox 360 and PC

Durham, USA – May 11th, 2007 – From the creators of ‘Age of Conan’, ‘Anarchy Online’, ‘The Longest Journey’ and 'Dreamfall' comes a brave new massively multiplayer online role–playing game for the PC and Xbox 360. Taking place on our earth, in our times, ‘The Secret World’ (TSW) is inspired by history and mythology, modern conspiracy theories and ancient mysteries."

http://www.funcom.com/wsp/funcom/fro...TENT&item=1004

The description is of a modern day world, on this and every other official word referring to TSW, i really doubt firearms wouldn't be present, as an option for the players, or that some sort of world event would render them useless or made them disappear.
