Lol, i didnt even notice that the arm was a mutated club.
*ouch* Thats got to hurt. -- Compared to all the other material we have seen from this game up until now, these two screenshots are different. Im not really sure hwat t make of them. To me they seem to show a scenario much like your average run-around-and-grind-monsters-mmo. So the questions that comes into my mind are many, but I guess the most important is: - Will this be just another hack and slash mmo or are there more to it ? -- The graphics looks great though, and I can very much see the relations to the AoC engine in those screenshots.

Ya also contained in the Q2 report are details on how AoC is doing. And it doesnt look so hot. 800k units sold. 415k active subscriptions. Which is a pretty high number. But 50% retention in such a new game during summer time does not bode well.
Mutant monster fighting in the street SS makes me sad. |

Yarr, I like the sign in the background, reminds me of an olde seafood restaurant where the octopus is all-you-can-eat.
Our hero has no l33t gear either, just jeans and a wool jumper. Can anyone zoom in and read the street signs? There's a pumpkin on the lawn as well, very Halloween.I like the lighting, misty and very New England-coastal-town-ish, reminds of Lovecraft. The question is -- is the rest of the town asleep and this is happening in the real world, or has our hero slipped into an alternative Secret World... or is it Dec 21 2012?

This quote makes me think that perhaps they are doing a lot more in the game that was theorized.

Hm... that last little picture seem to show the same diner/shop in the backround as the 2nd big picture, which in turn shows the same house on the right thats behind the two charactres in the first picture.
So... All the 3 pictures seem to be from the same street junction

I'd love to be the 41st, but I have no money for airfare, and Oslo is sooooo far away...
That new guy looks pretty buff, and wears a flak vest. Can it be true? An MMORPG with no l33t gear? Is he the little African kid from the Christmas card some people (I'm not naming names!) think is half-vampire? Whoever he is, he should be helping out the other guy who's only wearing jeans and a jumper. Unless he's with Them...By the way, can the zombie be matched to anyone in the Real Life Pictures thread? ![]() By the way, this bit is intriguing: MMO gaming combined with Alternate Reality Gaming and social networking Social networking? Is Ragnar going Facebook on us, or does he just want zombies to rip off our faces and make satanic books out of them?

Oooh, very interesting. There was something about the screens I wasn't entierly expecting.. guess they just didn't appear as dark as I had imagined. But at the same time, I like a lot of the things I see as the impression settles.
The world at least doesn't appear to have undergone any obvious, cataclysmic events. The streets look normal and quiet, the houses and shops appear to have gone to sleep, except for the diner where light still shines that is. As mentioned the first characters appear like most normal humans would, the other carrying what looks like a bulletproof vest. I almost feel the zombie creatures look out of place considering how everything else looks. Then again at this stage I guess we can't really read to much into it beyond the indvidual details we see. Those models were most likely just put together on a random piece of terrain for no other reasons than to show things of. But indications that they will blend game and "reality" must be what I found most intriguing. It could open up a whole lot of doors when it comes to storytelling and interaction.

So basicly they are taking all mthis and ledgens and turning them into facts. Seems cool just hope people can tell the differance between fact and fiction.

I like the zombies facial expression, the club looks so-so, I guess its just too much of an obvious giant weapon to hit you with that seems to plague the MMO genre. Unless those are little animated wriggling tentacle stumps, then I guess I'd have to give it up for them.
I think it was Ford who said that if he had listened to what people wanted he would have invented a faster horse.-paraphrased On that note, the MMOARSNG sounds like one of the more interesting aspects of this game.
